Liverpool harus mengakhiri laga dengan 10 orang usai Alexis Mac Allister dikartu merah. Liverpool juga sempat kebobolan lebih dulu di awal laga oleh gol Antoine Semenyo.
The Res mampu membalikkan keadaan menjadi 2-1 lewat gol Luis Diaz dan Mohamed Salah. Di babak kedua, Liverpool kehilangan Alexis Mac Allister yang mendapat kartu merah dari wasit.
